Festival for African Fashion and Arts (FAFA) was started in 2008 after the post election violence that occurred in December 2007. FAFA had one goal that took root, this was to explore and bridge cultures through fashion ,art and music , and this being its fifth show since they launched the first event was no different. The Fashion For Peace slogan was carried on and this time it was dedicated to the South Sudan nation following the recent wars that have been erupting there. In their goal to create a better society FAFA named the Seed of Hope s their beneficiaries to receive part of the proceedings to continue with their work of empowering teenagers to be independent and self sufficient by offering life vocational & entrepreneurial skills. Note that ,so far ,over 1000 teenagers have graduated from this organisation.
The FAFA Gala journey begun with a release of a trailer from the previous show that was to prepare you for this years event .
On May 3rd a designer photo shoot was held at upperhill by the FAFA crew. The stylist being Brian Emry and photographer Thompson Ncube. This shoot included the presence of bloggers that were meant to cover the event
A press conference was later held on the 20th of May at SAROVA STANLEY where we meet the new CEO of FAFA Sylvia Tonui
who formally worked at Elle Magazine South Africa
here is the briefing that gave out all the details in relation to the main event.
The last step was holding this designer master class
and on the 31st of May at the Oval building on ring road Westlands the event took place.
The location choice was an aim to show the best of Kenya’s Architecture.
When you got to the oval you had to go to the eighth floor where the event took place.
FAFA is all about Glamour and sure as the sunrise people did bring it to the red carpet check it out
the fashion watch crew( of citizen tv) streamed live from the red carpet where they graded the red carpet looks and here they are
here Lilian Muli preparing to air
After the redcarpet people went straight on to cocktails and some food and treats where people got to interact and have a laugh too
MOSES RNAZE MUKIIBI and his crew from STRUT IT AFRIKA
And the fashion and glam didn’t just stop there

Catering was perfectly done by the SAROVA STANLEY HOTEL who were part of the main sponsors of the event
sometimes you have to look bit serious when it comes to business
well during this section of the show there was some live band entertainment from IDD AZIZ and CHARLES WAKAKE
as all this was going on the models were busy backstage getting ready and having fun making memories
then later the camera men had to get their cameras in place
on the seats had to be filled , no one wants a bad spot
and beautifull joyful faces were everywhere ……so much good energy and vibes filled the room
then the show was on.
